GMA Canada week will take place in Calgary October 20-23. Once again, this event will feature a worship night on Tuesday, October 20, an additional day of conference workshops on October 21-23, showcases on Wednesday evening, the GMA Canada Cross-Canada Talent Search, and the Covenant Awards on Friday, October 23rd. Showcase open for submissions.
The showcases on Wednesday night, October 21st for GMA Canada Week are open for artists to submit to be a showcase artist. In previous years, we have had to turn artists away due to the overwhelming response, so let us know soon if you are interested in joining this great opportunity. (We also have some information for those who are looking for travel grants to come and be a part of these showcases). For those interested in hearing some great Canadian music, admission is free, so come and enjoy some great Canadian music!
Announcements
With a growing membership, the expanding GMA Canada Week including the Covenant Awards, conference and competitions, as well as a deepening vision to see Christian Music thrive across Canada, the GMA Canada board has taken the step of faith in appointing its first full-time staff member. Leroy Harder, who formerly ran Slyngshot Productions, has been working in the music industry for well over 10 years, has been a part of the GMA Canada association for 4 years, and now has a vision to see all of Canada embrace the community that is becoming GMA Canada.
The goal of the board and the new Executive Director is to continue to grow the GMA Canada Week, as well as to expand the services GMA Canada offers to its members, and looks forward to continued growth.
Peter Fleck will continue on as the coordinator for submissions and memberships, and a new Administrator, Debbie Jantzen, will be helping out with organizing the conference and GMA Canada Week.
